Alexander Usik became the boxer of the year according to the famous American magazine The Ring.

This year, Usik became the absolute world champion of the first heavyweight.

"A boxer of the year" was also claimed by another Ukrainian, Vasily Lomachenko, who had already won it last year

. This time he did not manage to win the victory, but the Ring's edition marked the success of his father, Anatoly Lomachenko. He was recognized as a coach of 2018.
