According to the police, the children are between 5 and 2 years old and have a baby. Police officers from the City of Texas City found their bodies at a welfare check in a city apartment about 50 km southeast of Houston.
The woman was in stable condition and was receiving treatment at a Galveston hospital, according to a police press release. His relationship with the children was not yet clear.
Lieutenant Kenneth Brown of the Texas City Police Department told the Houston Chronicle that the woman was unable to speak to the investigators because of her serious injuries.

The suspect is Juniad Hashim Mehmood, a 27-year-old black man, according to the police. It is about 6 feet and weighs about 220 pounds. The police described him as being armed and dangerous, but did not indicate any motive in the case.
