La Las Vegas police released a photo of the suspect's prison, Krystal Whipple, dated April 2018, as well as an online plea to obtain information and video footage of security in a shop [19659007] The video shows Ngoc Q. Nguyen, 51, from Garden Grove, California, jumping on the front of a black convertible sedan before being dragged under the car as she walks away quickly.
Homicide Lt Ray Spencer stated in the video that Whipple had been trying to pay for his manicure with what Spencer had called a fraudulent credit card and had told Nguyen and her husband that she was going to her car to search money before starting to leave.
The husband, who is not named, can be seen holding the vehicle from behind.
Police said the car, a stolen lease last month, had been found abandoned in a nearby apartment complex.
Whipple was sentenced in 2017 in Las Vegas for attempted possession of a stolen vehicle, according to Clark County Court Records. Last year, she was sentenced to four months in prison for violating probation in this case.
A lawyer who represented Whipple in this case did not immediately respond to messages received on Thursday.
