A family of 5, including a 7-year-old girl, killed by a car traveling the wrong way on the Kentucky Highway

A family of five returning home from a vacation in Florida, Michigan were killed in a brutal accident by a van driver driving down a Kentucky highway, police said.

The driver of the van, who is also dead, reportedly was under the influence when he allegedly hit the family SUV on Interstate 75 near Lexington, police said. of Lexington and the Fayette County Coroner's Office.

The collision set fire to the family vehicle, officials said.

Family members were identified as Issam Abbas, 42, and Rima Abbas, 38, and children Ali Abbas, 14; Isabella Abbas, 13 years old; and Giselle Abba, 7, said the coroner's office.

The town of Dearborn has posted a photo of the family on Instagram, and wrote: "Please, keep them, as well as their families and friends in your thoughts and prayers."

The driver of the van was identified As 41-year-old Joey Lee Bailey of Georgetown, Kentucky, announced the coroner's office. The toxicological results are pending.

Investigators are looking for witnesses who would have seen the van travel before the collision.
