Tuesday's shifts could be a little slippery, especially in northwestern New Jersey, where a winter mix of light snow and ice could cover the roads.
Forecasters call for up to an inch of snow, ice, and rain and ice caused a rapid storm that will sweep the night ahead of the morning rush hour Tuesday, said Monday morning the National Weather Service.
The weather service issued a winter weather advisory that lasts from 10 pm. until 7 o'clock for the following counties: Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon and Somerset. Precipitation is expected to begin around 1:00 am Tuesday in these counties.
The notice also applies to parts of eastern Pennsylvania, including the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos.
The Bergen, Passaic, Essex and Western Union areas are not under a winter notice, these areas could also receive a sprinkling of snow. Middlesex and Mercer Counties are also expected to receive "limited" effects of the storm and dusting is also possible in the west of Monmouth.
