A body was found Monday in the apartment of Democratic Party donor Edward Buck in West Hollywood – and not for the first time. A black man in his fifties, whose identity was not revealed, was declared dead around 1am following a call to 911, by KTLA and CBS Los Angeles. Seymour Amster, Buck 's lawyer, announced that a long – time friend who had "taken substances" before arriving died of an accidental overdose while Buck was his home. He adds that Buck was sober and that he was not providing drugs – a vital detail to the extent that another black man died of an overdose of methamphetamine at the same place, also in Buck's presence. Gemmel Moore, 26, was found naked on a mattress surrounded by 24 syringes, according to a coroner, who said the death of July 27, 2017 was accidental.
Another investigation is open – in his diary, Moore allegedly accused Buck of adding drugs and administering his first injection of crystal meth – evidence, reports Los Angeles Times . Investigators will now conduct a secondary review of the case while investigating the latest incident, said Lt. Derrick Alfred at KTLA, noting that "it's suspicious that this happened twice now ". Gathering in front of his apartment Monday night, dozens of activists have called for Buck's arrest. Amster, who denies any responsibility in the one or the other death, believes however that his client is unlucky. He "has long-time friends who, unfortunately, do not handle their lives well, and then succumb when they are in Mr. Buck's apartment," he says, according to KTLA. (Read more about overdose stories.)
