Shreveport, La. – A uniformed Louisiana police officer was shot and killed while she was preparing to go to work at night. A spokesman for the police in Shreveport said it had happened shortly before 8:30 pm. Wednesday on the outside of a house.
The police responded to the complaint and the police officer was shot dead. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she died later, sources told KSLA, a CBS affiliate.
The cap. Marcus Hines says that one person was arrested for questioning but was not charged with a crime. According to KSLA, the person who was detained was at the time of arrival of the police on his arrival.
Hines spoke while the policewoman was taken to the hospital and did not identify her. KSLA reports that the Shreveport police chief was in the hospital. Additional information was to be published at a press conference on Thursday morning.
The Shreveport Police Officers' Association lamented the death of this officer in a statement. "She was young and beautiful, and she turned out to be a capable professional dedicated to serving the citizens of Shreveport."
