The public company "Antonov" plans to resume production of the world's largest mass-produced cargo aircraft, An-124 "Ruslan", by the end of 2019. Sergei Omelchenko, deputy general manager of "Ukroboronprom ", reported January 14.

"We are actively cooperating in this direction with several international aircraft companies, and we are already in the final stages of fully processing the entire electronic component of this transport aircraft. that it will eventually be adopted by the Antonov engineering and design team to start production of the first aircraft this year, "Omelechenko said.

It should be noted that the AN-124 is the largest commercial airliner in the world. The first "Ruslan" flew in 1982. There are currently 55 such aircraft in the world. Their production was suspended in time, in particular because of the end of cooperation with the Russian Federation.
