In August, a Cook County jury rendered a guilty verdict on two aggravated battery charges.
On Monday, Ward emotionally pleaded the prosecution for failing to review all the evidence, claiming that his cell phone had rang in another part of the city and that it would have been impossible for him to. 39 to reach the scene of the crime within the time allowed by the authorities.
