The disc was spotted in the Presumpscot River in Westbrook, Maine, first attracting the attention of locals and social media following a Facebook posting of the account. the city.

Tina Radel, marketing and communications manager for Westbrook, said the ice disk was turning counterclockwise.

"It's pretty wild to watch," said The Portland Press Herald Doug Bertlesman, a local web developer. "It's certainly not every day that you can watch a rotating ice circle in the river."
