Currently, Apple uses its Mac computers exclusively with AMD GPUs. But for the whole story of the Mac series, the giant Cooper has more than once switched from AMD to Nvidia and vice versa.
However, Apple stubbornly refuses to add Nvidia drivers to the latest version of macOS, and last year the Nvidia chief had stated that he was reluctant on the part of Apple and not technical problems.

Of course, he did not receive an official statement, but a number of Apple developers said that the cause of the situation was a "top team". There is no technical hurdle to implementing Nvidia card support, but "someone just does not want to do it".
A developer has described the silent hostility between former Apple and Nvidia officials. However, nobody knows or does not want to give more precise details. In any case, it seems that the situation is solely due to personal decisions that are not related to the company.
