Odessa astronomers built a unique telescope and discovered several asteroids

The largest telescope-astrographer in Ukraine, created by Ukrainian astronomers, operates near Odessa

. Astronomers built a telescope in Mayaky village with their own hands, almost without using industrial components. At the observation station, even a mirror 80 cm in diameter was manufactured.

The telescope photographs the sky and the computer processes digital photos. Scientists explore celestial bodies and, in addition, closely monitor Earth's artificial satellites and space debris. In order not to collide with artificial satellite fragments, experts are constantly counting the change in orbit of space objects. In addition to the "Gaia" orbital telescope, astronomers have already discovered several unknown asteroids. Even the European Space Agency uses data from the national telescope.

Previously, the TESS telescope had already opened the third planet. It revolves around the orange dwarf at a distance of 53 light-years from Earth

Recently, Roskosmos lost its orbital telescope. The only Russian space telescope "Spectrum-R" has stopped accepting orders from the Earth. All attempts by scientists to establish contact with him fail.
