A 23-year-old woman allegedly detained against her will cried and had "a horrified look" when police found her at her alleged kidnapper in Boston, according to a police incident report of Boston.

Victor Pena, 38, charged with the kidnapping of Olivia Ambrose, was arrested after the authorities claimed that he was found in his Charlestown apartment on Tuesday with Ambrose , who disappeared on Saturday night.

When the investigation into the disappearance of Ambrose intensified, the police followed the last known sound signal from his phone to a complex of apartments. The detectives showed surveillance footage to their neighbors, claiming that the suspect looked like Pena, according to the incident report obtained by WCVB, a subsidiary of ABC Boston.

The missing 23-year-old girl's phone was also reactivated and she started sending messages to her mother, the report said.

On Tuesday, maintenance staff was called to open the door of Pena's apartment, and before breaking through the lock, the detectives waited for about 20 minutes and repeatedly struck .

"Once the upper lock was disassembled, but before the lower locks opened, the detectives heard the locks open from the inside," according to the report.

Pena, who was at the door, "resisted violently" when the authorities tried to handcuff him, according to the report.

Pena appeared for the first time in court Wednesday, during which it was decided that he would undergo a new mental assessment.

A doctor who examined Pena said he showed signs of psychosis.

Pena will be taken to a psychiatric facility for more sophisticated testing before returning to court on February 11.

The disappearance of Ambrose began Saturday night after leaving the Hennessey's Bar in Boston with a man identified and eliminated as a suspect, police said.

Ambrose was then hired by two men, one of whom identified as Pena, police said, citing a surveillance video.

According to the report, Pena and the other man were seen on a surveillance video watching her stagger in the street before following her.

The other man seen on video has since been cleared by detectives, police said on Wednesday.

According to the authorities, a video surveillance showed that Pena was physically guiding Ambrose, claiming that the young woman was not going on her side.

Ambrose's family reported his disappearance on Sunday, police said, prompting a massive search. The investigation led authorities on Tuesday to Pena's apartment.

Ambrose was taken to the hospital, police said. The 23-year-old woman then returned to her family's home Tuesday night, according to the WCVB.

Police investigate whether Ambrose and the suspect met at the bar or had a chance meeting on the street, the authorities said.
