After the Meizu Zero, Vivo announces its latest APEX 2019 conceptual device with a glass case that is almost devoid of holes.

It is likely that these design solutions will become a new trend, writes Engadget. There is also a small neck for the microphone, but there are no holes: you will not find a USB port, a speaker, or a SIM card tray. The smartphone, as the company assures, is made of "curved surface glass". Glass has thicker edges, which is an alternative to the conventional metal frame

To create a glass of the same thickness and thickness requires an exhausting process that includes both thermal bending and mechanical machining digitally controlled, which is probably not cheap. It is also interesting to see how this glass will survive the fall.

Part of this glass also serves as a set of three capacitive pressure sensitive buttons on the right side. They are likely to be used to turn on the device and change the volume.

Another unique feature is the full-screen fingerprint reader. Last week, OPPO and Xiaomi discussed the possibilities of using the fingerprint reader on most screens of their next phones, but if you believe Vivo, it seems that APEX 2019 may have a length beforehand. This will not only facilitate unlocking, but also unlock and change application in one click.

Like the Meizu Zero, Vivo's new APEX will use your screen as a speaker. As for the USB connection, it will be replaced by a magnetic Pogo connector with a magnetic pin, which will be directed towards the bottom of the back panel. Even though it does not sound as loud as the Meizu feature of the wireless USB, it is much more convenient and simpler to run.

Despite the fact that APEX 2019 is only a conceptual phone, Vivo nevertheless provided detailed features, including a Qualcomm chipset. Snapdragon 855 with a 5G modem, a whopping 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of memory, as well as a 12 megapixel camera with 13 megapixels at the back. Curiously, there is no front camera here, which is surprising, since the main benefit of the original APEX was its surging mobile phone.

It is well known that this new APEX will not appear as it is on the market. on its attractive appearance and potentially high resistance to water. Vivo is already preparing real devices based on this concept, they will be able to get acquainted with them at the MWC show next month.
