KYIV. January 26, UNN Relief services in Brazil confirmed the death of 34 people following the break-up of the dam that holds waste from the metallurgical industry in the state of Minas Gerais, in the southeast of Brazil. This was announced Saturday by the Globo television channel, reported UNN .
Mayor of Brumadigno, Avivar di Melo Barcelo, confirmed that about 200 people were reported missing as a result of this incident.
The Vale mining company, owner of the dam, said that about 300 employees were working in the nuclear power plant during the breakthrough. The location of a hundred of them is established, the fate of others is still unknown.
At least seven deaths were reported.
Meanwhile, the publication Hoje Em Dia reported 50 deaths, also referring to the mayor.
