Hackers collected a large amount of data.
Hackers of the group Distributed Denial of Secrets published 175 GB of information from Russia, obtained through hacking and data leakage, writes The New York Times.
According to this publication, documents have already been published in Russia, Ukraine and other countries. However, for the moment, the amount of information collected is impressive – 175 gigabytes.
The pirate collection contains information that illuminates the war in Donbass, the role of Moscow in aggression, as well as the links between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Kremlin.
"We have tried to collect and disseminate existing material on an under-studied subject: the Russian ruling circles, their interrelationships and their spheres of influence," explained journalist Emma Best, who is involved in creation of the DDoSecrets website.
Archives, freely available, were named The dark side of the Kremlin . It includes hundreds of thousands of messages and files from Russian politicians, journalists, oligarchs, religious figures and activists in Ukraine.
In addition, the archives contain documents of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia, which WikiLeaks refused to publish in 2016.
It should be noted that the website of the DDoSecrets service is built on the Analogy with WikiLeaks. It invites hackers and activists to cooperate and proposes to transmit and distribute secret documents.
