The same storm and a cold front are s & # Orienting south and east Monday night until Tuesday, potentially generating a rare snowfall in Atlanta, Birmingham and Jackson, Mississippi.
One to three inches of snow, associated with an instant freeze, could paralyze large cities like Atlanta on Tuesday.

Brutal Cold
Following this winter storm, the Midwest could see its coldest air since the mid-1990s to early Wednesday.
Wind chills are expected to drop to minus 51 degrees in Minneapolis, minus 47 degrees Chicago, minus 34 in Detroit and minus 23 in St. Louis.
This cold air is likely to spread on the shores of the Gulf and East Coast, where the wind chill in Atlanta can reach 16 degrees and the wind chill in New York may only represent one degree.
