The Czech government plans to double the quota for inviting Ukrainian workers under the program in effect since 2016

Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petrsichek said in an interview with Ukrinform.

"Current annual power – 21 thousand people, the Czech government plans to extend the quota to 40 thousand people each year, but the final decision has not yet been taken", – informed the Minister .

He described the program as unique and extremely successful, which allows Ukrainian candidates right to apply for residence permits in the area of employment.

He said that because of the constant growth of the Czech Republic in the labor market there is a strong demand for skilled workers who can not be covered by internal resources. This provides an opportunity for skilled and hardworking Ukrainian workers to gain experience in various companies in the Czech Republic.

In terms of cooperation, bilateral trade increased by more than 15% last year. According to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "some investors are opening the Ukrainian market as an alternative to Russian, from where they have decided to leave". In general, Petrishycek expects the presence of Czech companies in Ukraine to be more significant over the next few years.
