A woman trapped in the New York elevator rescued after three days

A woman was rescued Monday morning after spending three nights stuck in a New York

The 53-year-old female cleaning worker from Queens was trapped between the second and third floors while working in a private townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side on Friday.

Firefighters forced the elevator door to open a little after 10 am Monday and the woman was been taken to a hospital, said the FDNY.

The woman, who had no phone with her, was home alone on Friday and all weekend, according to authorities.

The owner of the apartment arrived Monday morning and called for help, authorities said.

The townhouse belongs to Warren Stephens, a business banker, according to property records.

Stephens did not immediately respond to ABC News's request for comment.

According to a spokesman for the Department of Buildings, officials from the New York City Department of Buildings issued an aggravated offense for non-disclosure of inspectors. Additional actions could be taken, said the spokesman.
