A single couple from Ukraine registered a marriage in the United States

In New York, on January 30, two Ukrainian gays officially married. They married in the United States because of their intolerant attitude towards such marriages in their home country.

One of those Ukrainians who is married is a well-known socialist activist, Bogdan Globa, who had not hid his orientation before. He was born and raised in the Poltava region. His favorite name is Vasyl, he comes from the Vinnytsia region.

"I feel happy because I have been fighting for six years for a same-sex marriage, and some sums that are not possible in Ukraine, and they have to do it in New York," Globa said in an interview. at the Poltava "Kolo" site.

Globa also noted that in New York he was possible to marry both the mayor's office and the church. The couple painted at the town hall. "You get a license and you have to register for 60 days, you can do it in one day," he said.

Bogdan Globa is a public activist, LGBT activist, leader of the first LGBT organization of Ukrainians in the United States. ProudUkraine, the first homosexual open to be elected to the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He was also assistant to People's Deputy Hryhoriy Nemyria

Two years ago, Bogdan left his country and went to the United States, the attitude towards gays and lesbians in Ukraine being intolerant, they can defeat and even deprive the life of homosexuality. In the new country, he asked for political asylum. Another member of the couple, Vasil, arrived in the United States recently.

By the way, according to the survey of the Gorshenin Institute and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Ukraine and Belarus, conducted at the end of 2017, the attitude towards the Representatives of Ukrainian sexual minorities is worse convicted for criminal offenses.
