million. Axios cited 51 private hours provided by an anonymous source in the White House, including "almost every working day since mid-term". During this period, the president spent 297 hours in "executive time," a period of the day that he uses to watch television, make phone calls, and hold meetings.
According to Axios, these same calendars revealed that the president "had about 77 hours scheduled for meetings including policy planning, legislative strategy and video recordings".
"He always calls people, talks to them," Axios told a senior White House official. "He's always ready to do something, it's just not what you would consider a typical structure."
Noting that the private schedules he's got do not include all the president's meetings since mid-term, Axios said that some meetings are listed as "executive". It's time to hide them from the West Wing staff, for fear of any leaks.
In one of these cases, a detailed program obtained by Axios indicated an interview that Trump had had last week with The Daily Caller, while a private program and no longer available alternatively it contained a "media engagement" in the same time slot.
The outlet also indicated that, according to the schedules he had obtained, the day after the mid-session, the Trump program provided for a 30-minute meeting with the Chief of Staff. from the time John Kelly and more than seven hours for the "executive time".
Some mornings, Trump summoned a selection of staff members to the residence to meet him, including Kelly, Ivanka Trump and former communications director, Hope Hicks.
At the approach of noon, the president ends his stay in the residence and then heads to the West Wing for a day of meetings, briefings and phone calls.
The White House did not respond to CNN's request. to comment on the report. In a statement to Axios, Sarah Sanders, press secretary at the White House, said, "President Trump has a different leadership style than his predecessors and the results speak for themselves."
