V Irginia's lieutenant governor, Justin Fairfax, denied Monday a new allegation of sexual assault against him, while many were preparing to replace him for Virginia Governor Ralph Northam.
"Lt. Governor Fairfax has a remarkable and well-deserved reputation for treating people with dignity and respect, "said Fairfax's chief of staff and communications director on Monday." He has never assaulted anyone – ever – in any way whatever. "
The statement appears to refer to a complaint from a woman, Vanessa Tyson, who allegedly asserted that she had been sexually assaulted by Fairfax at the DNC convention More than a decade ago
"Imagine that you were sexually assaulted at the DNC conference in Boston in 2004 by a campaign staff member, and you spend the next 13 years trying to forget that this has happened before." Tyson. "Then, by a strange and horrible chance, it seems more and more likely that he will get a VERY GREAT promotion."
"This is the private message of Vanessa Tyson. She gave permission to share this screenshot of her post. She is a professor … "

Tyson is currently a professor at Scripps College in California. But the Fairfax Communications Director's statement seemed to reject the woman's request.
"It's part of the sad and gloomy policy that the lieutenant governor dedicated to helping Virginia and the nation rise," said the Fairfax office release.
Gov. Ralph Northam is under pressure to resign after his medical school yearbook was released last week and showed an image of in blackface and another in Ku Klux Klan garb on his page. The resignation of Northam would probably leave Fairfax to act as governor.
Northam organized a emergency meeting with his staff on Sunday night at the Super Bowl and is expected to hold another meeting later on Monday. It seems like Northam is planning to resign.
