An early 911 call Sunday morning led police to a horrific discovery in the lobby of an apartment building in Queens: a 35-year-old pregnant real estate agent who had been stabbed to the torso and neck, according to NBC News. Jennifer Irigoyen was transported from the Ridgewood complex to a local hospital, but it was too late to save her – she was pronounced dead there. Law enforcement officials told NBC New York that Irigoyen was 5 months pregnant and that the police had been called five times over family disputes involving Irigoyen and an old boyfriend. New York Post seems to suggest that it was about a current boyfriend. Police say his unborn child did not survive the attack, according to CBS News.

Police, who claim that a man sprinted to the scene of the crime, is now seeking a man who has links with Irigoyen to be questioned. "You would have fallen in love with her because she's so darling," said her janitor at NBC New York. "It was a … really, really nice girl." The Irigoyen family, meanwhile, was devastated by the news. "Words can not explain the pain in my heart," wrote a cousin on Facebook, in the Post . "Today was a nightmare." Anyone with information about the crime can call 1-800-577-TIPS or 1-888-57-PISTA (for Spanish speakers). Tips can also be sent to the Crime Stoppers website, via text – 274637 (CRIMES), then TIP577 – or via the NYPD's Twitter tricks bar at @NYPDTips . (Read more stories of murders.)
