The New Jersey Democrat confirmed that he had a girlfriend during an appearance on the radio show "The Breakfast Club" on Tuesday.
While presenters were asking Booker if his personal life would affect his chances of winning the White House, one of the hosts of the show, Charlamagne tha God, remarked that Booker would want to to be delaying its installation.
"You do not want to marry someone now," said Charlamagne. "Once you start getting hot, you could become president – she might want you for that."
Booker burst out laughing. "No, before declaring president, I go out with someone special."
"Oh, so Cory Booker had a boo?" Asked Charlamagne.
"Me, I had a miss," laughed Booker.
Co-Host Angela Yee Was Less Surprised . "You do not have to read blogs, Charlamagne," she says. "It's on blogs."
It is rumored that Booker would be attending actress Rosario Dawson, although neither Booker nor Dawson has confirmed this relationship.
Before Booker announced his candidacy, Business Insider winked at them during an interview with Dawson, asking her if she hoped Booker would show up.
"I do not know … (pause) uh … how to answer it (laughs) Yes," she says, adding that Booker "would bring a lot of grace and intelligence and experience"
Although Dawson was not mentioned by name in Booker's interview, Charlamagne asked him if his girlfriend would make a "beautiful first lady." Booker and Yee agreed to say that she would do it.
Then the discussion rocked into an even more uncomfortable area for Booker.
"So whatever the special type, is anyone someone who is with whom you can marry someday? ", asked Charlamagne.
