Ali Issa Ahmad, a resident of the English city of Wolverhampton, a fan of London's Arsenal, was arrested in the United Arab Emirates. The 26 year old Englishman came to the Emirates for the Asian Cup. The reason for his arrest was the wearing of the T-shirt of the Qatar national team.
The arrest took place after Ali 's visit to the Qatar – Iran Quartet on 22 January. According to The Independent, Ali could be fined 119,000 euros. The Times reports that the British are also threatened at the age of 15.
Since June 2017, Qatar's support in any form whatsoever has been banned in the territory of the OAU because of the political situation in the region. In the Middle East, relations between Qatar and its neighbors are terrible, with the state being accused of supporting terrorism. Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the OAU declared the termination of diplomatic relations with Qatar. The Egyptian authorities have even decided to reinstate the visa regime with Qatar.
Emirates, even during the Cup of Asia, do not open borders for Qatar citizens and can not support the national team. Saud Al-Mohandandi, vice president of the Qatar Football Association, had to wait 13 hours to get a license.
In the semi-final match against the UAE, the Qatar team was thrown into sandals – the worst disrespect in the Middle East.

Please note that Qatar won the Asian Cup for the first time in its history. In the semi-finals, the upcoming champions beat the UAE 4: 0, while in the final match Japan beat Japan 3: 1.
