Three girls aged 12, 14 and 15 and two boys aged 13 and 16 were charged with criminal homicide. They were arrested in a West Nashville Walmart.

Nashville police identified three of the children: Roniyah McKnight, Diamond Lewis, and Decorrius Wright. The other two children have not been identified because they are 13 years old or younger. They were all taken to juvenile detention.

A firearm was found, as well as a stolen car on the parking lot. Investigators said the five people were in a stolen van from Chevrolet Colorado when they saw Yorlets outside. They held him at arm's length, stole his wallet and demanded his keys. Police believe that Yorlets was shot after refusing to hand them over.

A graduate of Belmont University, Yorlets was the guitarist and singer of the Carverton group, based in Nashville. The group posted the following statement on its Facebook page:

"On February 7, 2019, we lost our brother, best friend and member of our group, Kyle Yorlets, and we are shocked and seized the reality, we are now heartbroken, our condolences to his family, loved ones and all the lives he has touched. We will never forget Kyle, and although he left too early, his legacy is here to stay. "

Yorlets was from Pennsylvania
