HOOVER, Alaska – Federal officials are investigating a shooting in an Alabama shopping mall in the course of which a police officer killed a black man that he thought was the gunman.
Media reports that American attorney Jay Town had issued a Friday statement the Department of Justice reviewed and continues to investigate the 21-year-old Emantic "EJ" bullet shooting death , Emantic "EJ" Bradford Jr.
Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced Tuesday that the officer would not be charged. The state investigation found that the Hoover police officer on the outskirts of Birmingham was right to shoot Bradford because he carried a weapon and appeared to be a threat.
This decision provoked the indignation of the militants. According to the NAACP of Alabama, Marshall's decision basically tells black Alabama residents that their lives do not matter.
The officer confused Bradford with the person who had fired shots earlier on Thanksgiving night.
