A 91-year-old man beaten with a brick asks God for forgiveness for his attacker

"She hurt me, but I can not be an enemy and say that I condemn her," Rodolfo Rodriguez told KABC in Spanish on Wednesday

Rodriguez's trip from Michoacan, Mexico, to visit his family in Willowbrook about twice a year, his grandson Erik Mendoza told CNN on Wednesday. He walks around the neighborhood every day after lunch. It was during this July 4th walk that he came across a woman and a little girl. The woman assaulted him without warning, hit him with a concrete block and enlisted a group of men to beat him, he said.

"I did not even stumble on his kid," Rodriguez told CNN. "I passed her and she pushed me and she hit me until she finished."

His grandson says that Rodriguez suffered from a broken jaw, broken cheekbones, two broken ribs and innumerable bruises
