The father of a 6-year-old girl was arrested after police reported that her younger brother shot her Saturday night.
Investigators believe that the 2-year-old boy grabbed his father's handgun and shot him. A little girl in hand in their home located northwest of Atlanta, said police officer Jarius Daugherty, spokesman of the police department.
The girl was taken to the Atlanta Children's Health Center in Egleston in stable condition.
She was hit by a bullet around 9 pm Police said Saturday in a 1900 block home on North Ave.
Investigators obtained search warrants and found Stephens' 9mm handgun in the house, officials said.
