Bryan Rogers, a Wisconsin man who reported sending an online message to the online video game, went to Tennessee in mid-January.
The investigators found the girl at Rogers' home in Madison on Thursday night, days after her family reported her disappearance. It was discovered hidden in a closet after Rogers said he was not present, the authorities said.
CNN does not name her because she is the alleged victim of sexual assault.
The girl sent a video to Rogers and kidnapped her without warning the authorities. About the alleged abuse, an affidavit was filed Monday in court.
"Rogers stated that he had never sent the video to any law enforcement because he thought that she would not stay in court," says L & # 39; 39; affidavit.
The FBI and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office in Tennessee refused to start how the investigators learned that the girl was at Rogers' home.
The lawyers for Rogers and Pruitt did not immediately respond to CNN's requests for comment.
Rogers and the girl connected via an online game, say the feds

But after his arrest Thursday, Rogers told investigators that they had been in touch via Roblox's online gaming platform, as well as via Facebook and an encrypted email system,
According to the Affidavit:
• Rogers stated that the girl had told her that she was being assaulted and that he had ordered her to get a rape video.
• Investigators found a phone that shows conversations between Rogers and the girl as of December 24th. The messages indicate that the girl asked him for help.
"I know you do not want to do it but … we need clear video evidence," we read. messages – that the affidavit says Rogers sent to the girl. Messages push her to make a recording with a phone.
• Rogers told the investigators that the girl had sent him such a video by e-mail.
"He saw the video and said that it was fuzzy" and states that he could not give it. to law enforcement because he did not think it would be helpful in court, says the affidavit.
After recording a video, he went to get it, according to the federal government.
After receiving the video, Rogers went to Tennessee and went to pick her up, according to the authorities. She was reported missing on January 14, one day after her last visit to Madisonville, in eastern Tennessee, between Chattanooga and Knoxville.
Rogers told investigators that he "was avoiding surveillance of toll roads and service stations and was breaking the phone so he would not be found," says the court document.
The investigators came to believe that the girl was with Rogers in Wisconsin, some 700 km north of her house.
On Thursday afternoon, FBI agents went to Rogers' home, where he told them that he had been in touch with this girl online and that she had given him a video showing that she had been sexually assaulted, says the affidavit.
