A man shot dead when police try to break up the fight at Henry County Sports Bar

A man was shot dead Monday morning when police tried to break up a fight in front of a Henry County sports bar, the police said.

Two officers who were patrolling the area noticed a disturbance in the Tailgaters Bar parking lot on Route 155 near McDonough just before 2:30 am, and they intervened, said Captain Joey Smith, a member of the police force. Henry County,

After making initial contact with the group of people, Smith stated that the agents were involved in some sort of struggle and pursuit at foot.

"The officer ended up using a lethal force, in which a subject was shot," Smith said.

The man, who has not been identified, is in serious condition on Monday morning, reported Channel 2 Action News. Smith said that it was possible that several shots were fired.

No police officers were injured, according to Channel 2.

The GBI was called to investigate. The agents were still dealing with the scene at 7:30 in the morning.

The investigation seemed to focus on a sedan with a broken window on the parking lot.
