ALTON, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A Mother of Madison County is accused of concealing the state of her daughter's health, which would have resulted in his death.

According to officials, the 14-year-old girl was diagnosed with diabetes in 2013 and had already suffered serious medical complications as a result of diabetic ketoacidosis. She also failed to provide her daughter with appropriate medical treatment and medication, which, according to the authorities, would have resulted in the death of the teenager as a result of diabetic ketoacidosis.
Police were summoned to a home on Brentwood Boulevard in Alton on November 1 and concluded that Hampshire was not responding and was not responding to breathing. Emergency teams determined that the teenager was in cardiac arrest. She was taken to a hospital and flown to a hospital in St. Louis, where she died on November 3.
The search warrant obtained by News 4 indicates that in February 2018, the adolescent had been hospitalized or had contracted diabetic ketoacidosis. He would then have been prescribed insulin as a routine medication after his release and would have received additional information on diabetes, insulin and dietary needs. Three follow-up appointments were also planned, but the 14-year-old never showed up.
According to the search warrant, there is no current evidence that the prescription of insulin has already been performed. There would also be no evidence that the girl consulted a health care professional about the diagnosis of diabetes after her hospitalization earlier in the year.
The mother, aged 39, was charged with manslaughter and endangering the life or health of a child. . His bond was set at $ 100,000.
