A Henry County police officer was shot dead Thursday morning and the shooter was killed, police said.
According to the authorities, the policeman was shot in the head, but he was able to shoot, killing the gunman.
L & # The officer was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, Captain Joey Smith told reporters.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is on the scene of the shooting, near a dentist's office in the block of Jonesboro Road. According to Channel 2 Action News, the alleged gunman was a client of the dentist's office who caused a disruption.
Henry County police officers reacted after employees called 911, the news channel reported.

"The scene is secure," police said on Facebook. "There is no high risk for the safety of the public at the moment.
