D Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and other senior officials of the Department of Justice opened an investigation for obstruction of justice by President Trump himself in the week following the dismissal of his former director, James Comey, in order to retain a report released late Thursday.
On the order of FBI director Andrew McCabe, the MJ secretly opened an investigation into Trump, worried about Trump's attempts to control other government operations, particularly because he had asked Comey to stop consulting his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, CNN reported.
Trump's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, said that on Thursday, Trump was legally entitled to return Comey.
"It is shocking that the FBI opens an obstruction file to the president who exercises his authority under Article II," Giuliani told CNN.
The investigation was opened eight days after the dismissal of Comey and the appointment of the special advocate Robert Mueller.
On May 17, 2017, Rosenstein instructed Mueller to direct the deep dive that has now been going on for 19 months in a possible collusion between the Republican campaign and the Russian government.
The Washington Post reported in 2017 that the GM had launched its own research project on Trump.
As part of the discussions on how to master Trump, Rosenstein had offered to wear a thread during his meeting with Trump, although he then said that he was joking. He also proposed to consider whether cabinet members would be willing to withdraw Trump via the twenty-fifth amendment.
