Italy refused to recognize Juan Guadio as interim president of Venezuela, considering it impossible any outside interference in the internal affairs of another country.

Italy does not recognize Guaido because we are categorically opposed to the fact that a country with the support of third country determines the domestic policy of another country. This is what is called the principle of non-interference and it is supported by the United Nations
said Di Stefano.
He also explained that the main task now is to avoid the war and to repeat the "Libyan scenario" when Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown. Commenting on the European Parliament's resolution, Di Stefano stressed that everyone now recognizes the mistakes made in Libya and therefore could no longer reproduce in Venezuela.
On Thursday, the European Parliament passed a resolution on Venezuela, which recognizes the Venezuelan opposition leader, Juan Guayido, Acting President of the country and calls this country – members of the European Union. Representatives of Italy's "Five-Star Movement" opposed it, while "The League" deputies abstained. At a meeting on Thursday in Bucharest, EU foreign ministers did not jointly decide to admit Guaido to the post of acting president, however, stressing that this step had the right to separate each of the 28 countries of the EU.
Countries of Europe, including Great Britain, Germany, Germany, Spain. The Netherlands and France, Jan. 26, declared that they were admitting Juan Guadio to the acting president, urging Nicholas Maduro to announce the election for eight days. In support of Maduro, Russia, Belarus, Bolivia, Iran, China, Cuba, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Turkey expressed their support. The UN secretary general has called for a dialogue to resolve the crisis.
