Apple is about to create its own modems for the iPhone.

Rumors have been caused by Apple's recent vacancies for two mobile modems system architects in San Diego and Cupertino. Recently, the company has released a number of hardware and firmware-related modems for its offices in Berlin, San Diego, and Beijing.
Since 2011, Apple has been using Qualcomm modems. However, in recent years, relations between businesses have deteriorated. Therefore, in the latest models of the iPhone, the company decided to use Intel modems. However, the July report indicated that Intel modems are much slower than Qualcomm modems. In addition, Apple would explore the possibility of launching the iPhone 5G support by 2020. According to the publication, it makes sense that the company removes dependencies from chip vendors.
