Astronomers have discovered the exoplanet born of a major cataclysm.

Astronomers have discovered the solar system of the planet, probably as a result of the collision between two heavens. body

According to Science News, such collisions in our planetary system are not uncommon, but scientists were first able to find evidence of such events beyond its borders, writes dt.ua .

During the study, scientists observed the Kepler 107 system, which is located on Tani two thousand light-years from Earth. It consists of two planets, whose size each exceeds the size of the Earth one and a half times. However, the masses of these planets vary considerably and Kepler 107c was twice as thick as the Kepler 107b. According to the researchers, Kepler 107c has a large iron core, which makes it similar to Mercury.

According to the theory of planet formation, dense stony celestial bodies should be closer to the star. But Kepler 107c does not fit in a similar scenario because it is far from the light beyond its neighbor.

The researchers looked at several scenarios as to why this might happen. For example, Kepler 107c could be formed closer to the star and then migrate. However, the most likely version of the collision of two celestial bodies, the mass of each of them not exceeding the Earth 10 times.

Scientists performed computer simulations. It turned out that the collision of two celestial bodies, whose mass of the iron core represents 30% of the total mass, will lead to the appearance of a planet whose core occupies 70% of the mass. Most other documents evaporate as a result of the collision.
