"It's an invented fight, so the president can look like he's fighting, but even if he wins, our borders will not be secure," he said. Corker said about CNN's "State of the Union."
Corker's comments came as the government's partial closure came on its second day after Congress and Trump failed to reach a funding deal on Friday. The Senate adjourned Saturday without agreement, which means the closure would likely continue after Christmas.

The closure of the January government that would have combined more money at the border with the protection of "Dreamers".
"We can secure our borders," Corker said. "We can solve this problem, it is an invented fight."
He was asked Trump if he meant that this question was being used as part of a campaign rather than seeking an agreement, he added.
"It's a show, and frankly, it's a minor," Corker said. "It's all juvenile."
