QUEENS – An alleged burglar died Monday after being stabbed and beaten by a baseball bat by two brothers defending their home in Queens, police sources said.

An unarmed 26-year-old man knocked on the door. a house on Williamson Avenue around 2:45 in the morning.

It was then that one of the two brothers answered the door, and that man would have forced his way in, according to sources.

The resident's brother then confronted the man and fought him. According to sources, the altercation has spread across the street and the man accused of breaking into the house was stabbed and beaten with baseball bat

The incident was reported as a burglary in progress, police said. The family who lives at home tells the police that they do not know the so-called burglar.
