Sen. Cory Booker has not yet made a decision on his candidacy for the presidency in 2020, but he said Saturday in New Hampshire that he would be returning his verdict in about a month.
Booker, D-N.J., Was Saturday in the first state of the country to participate in many events. He was the keynote speaker at the state-run democratic celebrations in a crowded auditorium of the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester. He was also guest of honor at an evening in Nashua, hosted by former Senator Bette Lasky, alongside Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess and Senator Cindy Rosenwald.
He was in a lively mood at the time, but spoke little of his presidential ambitions. He was more frank about his projects on Saturday morning.
"During the holidays, I will sit down and take stock of what I want to do next, whether I want to run for the presidency or stay in the Senate to help this movement continue to reinvigorate our country our democracy. "said Booker, affiliated with Manchester ABC, WMUR, in an individual interview.

"The definition of hope is not that you see a light at the end of the tunnel or something on the horizon that gives you hope – hope is generated from within", he declared in Manchester.
In Nashua, Booker speaks at length about his growing personal history in New Jersey, divided between downtown Newark and the Upper Saddle River suburbs and the problems facing New Hampshire, including the opioid crisis. New Hampshire has the second highest number of overdose deaths in the country: 35.8 per 100,000 in 2016, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
WMUR "This incredible city fights against opioid addiction, struggling with mental health issues," said Booker, referring to Nashua. "They are struggling with the difficulties of my region."
The party of the house also attracted a large number of people, in the same place that Barack Obama staged a similar event in 2007 when he was a senator.
"We have never seen so many people packed and we have hosted a lot of political figures here," Elliot Lasky, an optometrist at Nashua, told WMUR.
Booker will spend a second day in that state Sunday in Keene.
The senator is part of a group of potential Democrat candidates – although none of them has officially flung his hat on the ring.
