The Harvard Student Journal interviewed Zuckerberg in 2003 about his earlier project at Facebook, facemash.com, which asked students to assess the attractiveness of their classmates. Images were extracted from housing websites and downloaded.
The website promptly provoked outrage and was permanently removed. Zuckerberg, then 19, said:
