WOODLAND PARK, Colorado (WPEC) – Colorado authorities on Friday arrested a fiance of a missing mother and solicited first degree murder, Colorado attorneys said.
Kelsey Berreth, 29, has been missing for a while around Thanksgiving. She was last seen on November 22 on a surveillance video while shopping at a grocery store in Woodland Park.
Her fiancé, Patrick Frazee, told investigators that the couple had reunited that day so they could get their daughter back one year old, according to the newspaper. The Associated Press.
The investigators claimed to believe that the crime was committed on the basis of Kelsey Berreth's testimony at Woodland Park. Frazee lives in Florissant, about 15 miles to the west.
Woodland Park police said Frazee was booked Friday morning. He is being held at Teller County Jail. Prosecutors have announced that he should appear in court in the next 10 days.
The authorities said they did not believe Berreth was still alive. Investigators continued to search his home on Friday. They would not explain why Berreth's phone had been found in Idaho.
Police said that there could be a second arrest on the basis of an application for indictment of first degree murder.
The couple's daughter is in custody and will be reunited with Berreth's. family.
