Two Tanzanian ships carrying liquefied gas lit up Monday, January 21, in the Black Sea near the Kerch Strait. At least 11 people died as a result of the fire and explosion that followed.

According to the Russian Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorrychflot), 31 people were on board, among which crew members were Indian and Turkish citizens .
Sailors had to jump into the water to escape the flames. According to the latest data, 12 people managed to register. In addition, 11 bodies of the dead were taken out of the water and three other people, of course, also drowned: the rescuers saw how they were under the water, they had no rescue means. The fate of five other people is not yet known.
The fire broke out on the tankers "Kandy" and "Maestro", who were at anchor in neutral waters south of Cape Opus. The fire started on one ship and returned to another. The fuel was probably pumped from one tanker to the other.
Earlier, eyewitnesses reported that about 10 people were saved by a fire in a gas car and ships near the Kerch Strait.
