Of the 104 tennis players who entered the main sheet of the US Open Grand Slam Tournament, five representatives of Ukraine – Elina Svitolina, Lesya Tsurenko, Katerina Bondarenko, Katherine Kozlova and Diana Yastremskaya, reported UNN with reference to the website of the Grand Tennis of Ukraine.
Svitolina's first racket L 'Ukraine will perform in New York for the seventh time. Last year, she came in the fourth round of the tournament, where Madison Keys gave three sets.
Tsurenko will start the ninth open tennis tournament for the ninth time, but for the sixth time. Just like in Svitolina, Zurenko has the best result – the fourth circle that she showed in 2016.
Bondarenko will play for the 12th time on the American "major" and for the ninth time on the main grid, which is the best result in Ukrainian women's tennis. Bondarenko is the only Ukrainian who managed to compete in the quarterfinals of the US Open in 2009.
Kozlov arrives in New York for the sixth time and will perform for the fourth time on the main grid. Kozlova 's best result for this tournament is the second round last year.
Instead, Yastremsk, 18, will play in the main grid of the Grand Slam tournament for the first time in his career. Odintsy has already tried to qualify for the Australian Open and Wimbledon, but lost both in the second round
Recall that after the successful results at the ITF tournaments in Rome and Budapest, Yastremsky managed to enter the top 100 rankings of the WTA.
