As part of this postponement, Sullivan imposed on Flynn a travel restriction effective January 4th. Flynn was to remain within a 50-mile radius of Washington, although Sullivan also endorsed planned international trips in advance.
At a court filing Wednesday, Flynn's lawyers asked the judge to amend the restriction to include Middletown, Rhode Island. The filing indicated that the special board office had "no objection" to the request.
The document stated that prior to the travel restriction, Flynn was traveling between the home that he and his wife owned in Middletown and Alexandria, Virginia, a city located outside of Washington where both rented an apartment.
Flynn was to be sentenced earlier this month and at the sentencing hearing, Sullivan emphasized how seriously he viewed the crime committed by Flynn.
"I do not hide my disgust, my disdain for your criminal offense," said Sullivan.
Later in the day, Flynn requests that his sentence be postponed to a later date so he can better cooperate with federal investigations and try to alleviate the judge's disgust for his actions. . Cohen contributed to this report.
