Two Georgian teenagers died Monday after being shot, before committing suicide, police said Tuesday. Hodges, 15, was part of a group of four teenagers who had gathered in a "makeshift hangar" at the front of New Year's Eve in a suburb of Atlanta.
Detective David Smith told the newspaper accidentally shot, hitting Carless, who was sitting next to him. The newspaper said that one boy had called 911 while the others had fled.
Smith stated that Carless had died before the arrival of emergency relief personnel at the scene. Police said Hodges was later "seen running between two houses" before committing suicide.
The shooting is still under investigation, according to the newspaper.
