Google has created a translation service in Google Assistant between 27 languages. It can be used to communicate with those who do not know your language and the translation is done in real-time conversation.
For example, you can give the assistant the command "help me to speak French" or "become my translator in French", after which he will recognize what you are talking about and will display a translation that can be read by caller. Then, your interlocutor can answer in his own language and the translator will translate his language to reproduce you.
It is not necessary to tell the translation which language you speak, it will recognize it by itself if this language is in the list of supported languages. The translation feature will appear soon in Google Home, as well as in the smart columns of Lenovo, LG and JBL equipped with screens.
