A page requesting this mode's support in Google's browser has been around since May 2018, but it's only recently that it has been used. one of its developers confirmed the development of this feature. A similar request exists since June 2018 and for macOS after the appearance of the "dark" mode on this operating system.
In addition, users were surprised to find that support for "dark" mode for Windows was worse than for macOS, despite more widespread prevalence of the first system.
There are currently several methods to get a dark theme in Google Chrome: use the "Incognito" mode (dark by default), install a third-party theme from the Chrome Web Store, enable unstable version via the indicator (Google Chrome Canary only).
