"After more than two decades of serving the public, I have chosen to hold a position in the private sector where I can use my legal and professional experience to create jobs throughout the country," said Marino in a statement.
"I want to thank the residents of the 12th Congress of the Pennsylvania US Congress for the trust they have placed in me, which is truly one of the highest honors of my life." added Marino.
Marino was re-elected in November for a fifth term in the House. His last term of office is January 23rd.
The news of his resignation has been reported for the first time by The Daily Item.
