Of course, President Trump blames the Democrats for the closure for which he was first credited. ("I would be proud to close the government.") However, for the past three weeks he has been calling on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to reach an agreement.

This Strategy Does Not Work and This Closure will stop so soon. A recent survey shows why.
According to the Washington Post and ABC News, 53% of respondents blamed Trump and Republicans for the closure of this Congress, 29% of Democrats and 13% of both sides.
After taking a look at these numbers, one might assume that the White House would realize that they were losing the war of messages. But closer scrutiny shows why the stop will continue: Trump gets good results in this stop with the Republicans.
Trump has promised a wall at his base and the GOP is engaging more and more, even when construction seems impossible. As reported by the Washington Post, wall support climbed 16 percent in one year from 71 percent to 87 percent.
That is why the judgment will not end any time soon. Trump continues to get what he wants, namely to give his supporters the impression that he is still fighting. He does this by doing nothing. Until something changes radically, nothing will change.
